I’m not sure who to thank for giving me access to previous posts and search features after my complaint of having no access. Thank you, ghost in the machine.

Also, thanks to all for sharing your personal journeys. Thank you for asking difficult questions and offering private answers.

My body failure embarrasses me on a daily basis. It’s comforting to have found a place where such honesty is offered without judgment or hesitation.

Cheers!

Hi

We are all on the same journey that we would rather not be on and this site is there to help each other and learn we are not alone.

This is one of the benefits of the internet.

In sharing and caring we all feel that little bit more stronger to travel this horrible road.

Keep strong and safe.

I have been inspired by the group to do things that have been terrifying to me.I went for a drive. I visited a friend. I went to a movie. Not on the same day obviously.

I didn’t fall or faint or have any terribly embarrassing moments.

I hope this list keeps growing.

Thanks again.

Well done indeed! I identify with all of this (dating back to long before my June 2022 diagnosis). So many times the planning and fear of what might happen have almost paralysed me, yet once I actually embark on whatever social event or trip is involved it usually works.

I am trying really hard to say yes not no!

Thanks for taking the time to share Gill.I have felt so alone in with my social anxiety. I also have had difficulty for sometime but things have felt quite impossible this past year.

I actually packed luggage to visit my friend for a few hours. I have so many items I might need if I have an issue. It felt ridiculous.

You said things have usually worked out for you. In hindsight, is there anything that could have helped you be better prepared for the times that didn’t go well?

I understand if this is too personal.

Good question!

I have learned that I can’t rush around in the way that I used to or my blood pressure goes haywire, so I leave twice as long as I think I need to get out the door.

Treating each outing as a big adventure helps me, so I prepare early and factor in time for rest.

The best thing I’ve done is trying to take less not more with me. Carrying all my just in case stuff is more stressful than not having it!

Good luck!

I do always wish I had planned for breaks when getting ready. Definitely a change in my routine is needed. Great advice!

I had to really stop and ponder leaving the house without all of my stuff and junk. That scared me. Scares me.

In my mind I began going over each trip from the house. As long as I’ve had enough cold fluid and meds I’ve been fine.

I see less panic on my horizon. Very helpful advice.

Thanks again!
