My husband has msa c . Diagnosed 5 years ago . The worst symptom has always been his dizziness . specially in the morning . Any one tried any medicine . He also has downbeat nystagmus .

this is probably blood pressure related so check that he has the right dosage of medication for this or if he doesn't have any medication that you speak to his doctors - it's a big cause of falls so important to get on top of. Make sure he goes from lying down to sitting to standing slowly, this gives a better chance of him not feeling dizzy.

Hello yeah my dad's been on a low dose steroid in the mornings to prevent blood pressure dips/dizziness. Kx

this article discusses the use of bolus water (drinking 500 mL on empty stomach quickly, temperature does not matter)

"Drinking water can provide a rapid relief of symptoms resulting from orthostatic hypotension in autonomic failure patients. This intervention is particularly useful in the morning (when orthostatic hypotension tends to be more severe) and can bridge the time required for oral medications to start working. In some patients, water drinking increases systolic blood pressure by >100 mm Hg, which can result in dangerously high blood pressure in the supine position. In these patients, water drinking should probably be avoided for ≈1.5 hours before retiring."

Thank you for your replies . Blood pressure has been checked many times . Lying sitting standing . Not much difference .

My husband has MSA -C. Constant dizziness no medication is available as he doesn’t suffer from postural hypotension.

Thank you . Is his dizziness any particular time ? My husband's is normally from when he wakes up in the morning till lunch time .

He suffers this all the time, but some days can be worse than others.
