Hi, my mum was diagnosed with MSA at the start of this year, she is starting to have tremors, and suggestions on treatment and natural remedies. I'm also looking into cbd oil for her so any thoughts on this too?

Hello Harpreet, Jackie, my wife has just started having quite severe tremors and so we will be watching this with interest. It makes eating so difficult for her in particular. We hope to talk to our neurologist this week about it - if we have anything to offer, I will post.

Take care, Ian

Thank you so much Ian

Hi, my wife Sue has had tremor for a while with her MSA in her legs and arms. It occurs when she is awake but dissapears when she is asleep.

We have been prescribed Primidone primarily to counter the tremors. It does help in Sues case, there are other similar drugs available and some are not to be stopped suddenly, but if it helps why would you?

Speak to your consultant to get the best opinion as everyone acts differently to different drugs.

Hi, my father has MSA and he is quite advanced in the condition, but he hasn't really suffered with tremors. I hope that your mum gets some relief from this and I would be interested to know how you get on.

Hello, i considered cbd oil for dad, but decided to try it out myself first. It made my blood pressure quite low, so had to stop,so decided against it for him. I came across some research on Probiotics and neuro conditions. No major conclusions out there yet, but decided it can't do any harm to give dad a daily probiotic. In terms of natural remedies, he enjoyed relexogy for a while. He was on madopar for tremors and stiff movement. It was effective for some time and then wore off and started to actually cause tremors. Thats not to say its not worth trying. A good neurologist will advise. Hope this helps! Kx

Hi, if you are in India kindly visit NIMHANS Bangalore. She must have a proper diet a little bit more salt will do better. Get some stockings for her from pharmacy. If she can exersice then its good. Try visiting a good physiotherapist . Give her as much love as possible and dont stress her mentally.

Hi Harpreet,

my husband has tremors which have gotten worse and makes drinking and eating difficult.

We have not had any treatments for the tremor (none even suggested) but we try to manage with improved quality of life tools such as weighted silverware, plates with raised edges and travel mug for hot beverages and travel water bottles with straws for cold beverages. This allows him to sip liquids without spilling due to tremors. Add lots of love and patience and the day seems better!

I look forward to hearing about any remedies that you find helpful.

Prayers!

Thanks so much for sharing, my mum has just started taking cbd oil, it's only been 3 days but I will keep you all posted on if it has helped her in anyway

Hi all just wanted to give an update, so my mum has been on cbd oil for nearly a week now, and one thing she has definately noticed (well my dad has noticed), is that she is sleeping better. She had very vivid dreams and would talk in her sleeps loads, but my dad has noticed that she is more settled in her sleep. Will keep you updated if there are any more improvements x
