Fedratinib

There has recently been changes in Australia making Fedratinib available on compassionate grounds for high risk MF.

Has anyone tried it? I've read the research papers available, but none of them address its potential to control extremely high platelet levels.

Thanks

Are there problems with ruxolitinib for you?I was switched to fedratinib when ruxolitinib lowered my platelets too low.

Hi Scaredy_cat,

There aren’t any problems that I’m aware off it’s just I read that interferon can potentially reverse bone marrow scarring in some patients and from what I understand rux doesn’t have this effect.

That’s why I am wondering if I should consider interferons

I don't think fedratinib is an interferon based drug

I too have high risk MF. I was given Fedratinib when Ruxolitinib stopped working for me after 10 years. I don't have excessively high platelets. They've moved into more normal levels after the Rux made them on the low side. Interferon has never been offered to me as an option. Having said that, we are all different in the way our disease progresses. My next adventure will be with Momelotinib, which has come along just in time. All the best with your decision and good luck in the future. Hilary

Did you notice any changes in your symptoms after switching?

Once I had the right dose of fedratinib, not really that I was aware of.

Thanks for the replies. Rux hasn't help lower my platelets at all. I'm currently on both rux 25mg and hydrea 1000mg twice a day. My platelets are still around 1000.
