Interferon and skin

I have been on Interferon for a few years but over the last 2 my skin is suffering, loads of dry and itchy skin, anyone else having similar issues?

Have you been checked for autoimmune conditions that can cause this? Widespread irritation points to a systemic condition of some kind. Best to rule out an A-I source.

Hi, I use Aveeno products for very dry skin with good effect. Also a antihistamine med may help too.

Cerave is a great product line. And if super itchy dermeleve is great. Of course their are prescription things too, but cerave is great!

This may well be an interferon side effect. I get itching and occasional rashes from the IFNs. I have found that a daily dose of cetirizine manages this issue effectively. As KLCTJC notes, CeraVe is a great intervention for dry skin.

SUggest you review this issue with your MPN care team and get their input.

hey. I am on peg interferon but as far as I know the itching is due to my p.v. What is your diagnosis?
