Hip pain Bone Bx on 3/25/24

Good morning!

I feel as though I'm falling apart and I'm almost 56. I'm having severe Left hip pain that started last night (out of the blue). Kept me up a good portion of the night and its sharp pain. I had a similar sharpness of pain when the aspiration was taking place. Had pain for about a week after and has gone away and I have been just fine, until last night.

I saw the MPN specialist in Boston for the second option, last week. I do have JAK2 and ET with headaches as I've expressed before. My high BP is controlled with medication. They don't believe my tiredness is from the MPN dx. So I'm being set up for a cardiac workup to make sure all is well. Then this bone hip pain started. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

Sorry to hear about the new hip pain. Hard to say what it is other than a warning that something is amiss. This may have nothing to do with the MPN. Pain is a warning that something is wrong. Best to have it checked out if it does not resolve quickly.

Have a orthopedic surgeon do a mri with contrast. I went thru the same thing thought that I have to see a neurologist that I was losing feeling in my leg and it was horrible when I seen that there's a Labral tear in hip with a cyst above it and it's Arthroscopic surgery needed I felt like a million dollars it could honestly just be a tear in the hip at your age it's very common such as for myself same age.
