Has anyone studied issues related to ET/MPN and vascular calcification?

There is actually a fresh such study that concluded:

"These novel data support the hypothesis that MPNs have an increased burden of cardiac calcifications, independent of other cardiovascular risk factors"

My cardiologist recently ordered a CAT scan for me. I had zero score, (the desired outcome) I think he expected something more. But you bring up a good point that we should all be getting this test with our increased risk.

No, as Im fairly newly diagnosed, a few months ago.But Im a nurse in a perioperative environment, so will ask our vascular surgeon and cardio

Im in New Zealand, dont think we even have MPN specialists here! so am enjoying the support of this group 🙂

Hey! From NZ too 👋🏼 I believe Dr James Liang at Auckland specialises in MPN. I’m contemplating seeing him as a second opinion. Where are you based?

Oh cool, Im really happy to find another kiwi. Im in Napier, only diagnosed this year with ET/ JAK2 6%. Would be really good to make contact 🙂

Same here! Diagnosed after pre-op bloods picked up high platelets. I’m also ET/Jak2. It’s been a tricky process to say the least 🥴 - feel free to message me if you’d like to make further contact 😊

Diagnosed exactly the same way, with pre op bloods!, but looking back, platelets had been elevated for 2 years.Not sure how to pm you but would be good to share support, thanks

There are actually 3 MPN Specialists listed in New Zealand.
