pin and needle like sensation in back
hi Green1988, your husband should speak to his GP about the pain and sensation of pins and needles, to find out what is causing it and what can be done to help him. If these symptoms get worse at any time while you are still on holiday he should seek medical advice as soon as he can. Best wishes, Maz
We are really not in a position to give much advice here. Suggest trying a bit of medical detective work until you can contact a doctor about it.
Intervention really depends on what the problem is. Is this like an aquagenic pruritis (dermal)? Anything visible on his back when it occurs? Does it feel like the burning/throbbing pain we can get in our extremities (microvascular). Is it more like paresthesia (nerves)? Is it like a muscular pain? Does massaging or stretching it help?
There are really too many variables to sort out. Hopefully you can figure it out or get in touch with a doc who can help.
In the meantime note that we need to be careful when using OTC meds since some of them, NSAIDs in particular, can interact with any blood thinning meds we take. Some analgesics are OK with the typical MPN meds, but it is safest to consult before using them.
Hope the symptom resolves and you have a great holiday.
