Any suggestions on traveling with Pegasys prefilled syringe? I know it needs to be stored at 36-46 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hi Jeanie

You could try these all maintain 2-8 degrees.

Or

I have one of these similar to above but more readily available in Europe

The problem with the flasks is you may need to remove packaging for it to fit not sure the size of packaging where you are. Also depends how many you need to take

Other option is cool-safe.com/en/product/co...

It has more space to carry meds but is bulky

I always ask the air-hosts to put it in the fridge for me. Just make sure you don’t forget to get it back before leaving the plane - a couple near misses myself.

Hi Jeanie, have you chosen one and does it fit our pegasys boxes? I am flying from uk to USA next year and looking at the cool bags for meds, but most seem to be for syringes only.

Not yet. A lot of people are saying to just put it in an insulated lunch pack with ice pack. Mine comes in a prefilled syringe.

Yeh I thought of doing that, will have to make sure ice packs don’t touch the syringes. Mine too, pre-filled.

Hi Jeanie. I've flown with interferon a few times to Australia. I kept the injections in their boxes but placed in a cool bag I'd normally use for my lunch with some freezer/ice packs in. When the packs had defrosted I asked the air stewards for ice & gave them a plastic container I'd brought especially to put the ice in, then put that in the cool bag. When travelling most hotels would re-freeze the freezer packs but I did have to buy a bag of frozen peas once!

Hi, I’ll have this problem in November . I’m in Uk and ravelling across NZ and Australia. I think I’ve cracked it.I’ve ordered old fashioned ice bags. I’ll then pack my 6 jabs and ice pack into a cool bag. The ice bags can have they ice replenished from coffee/ restaurant shops. Unlike cold packs

Hi I just recently travelled to the UK from Oz with Peg. One airline let me put it in their fridge but the other wouldn't so I used zip lock bags with ice in a cool case meant for insulin. There were two sections so the ice didn't touch the syringes. It was a bit of a pain but it worked pretty well - good luck.
