Hi everyone not been on for a while had my appointment today my Platelets are now on 735 only got up a bit has my last appointment 3 months ago was on 701, next appointment in 3 months ,am still getting tinnitus in my ears aches and pains but nothing major,pins needles alot in my feet sometimes in my hands too ,started with a sore thoart cough was a little sick and body aches but tested negative so far for covid19 so could be just the bad flu ,hope all is well.x

Thanks for the update. What does the doctor say about your symptoms? And what medication are you on?

Haematology said due to condition with my platelets been in the 700ish and to keep an eye on cold,sore thoart and cough am still on 75mg aspirin to take daily x

Hi Jody00, I just read that you tested positive for Covid. I hope you get through that soon. Also, since you’re having symptoms from your mpn, maybe you should be taking something else besides aspirin. 735 is pretty high. My platelets have been hovering in the 700’s and 800’s for a few years. My doctor would like them to be in the 500’s. I take 1000 mg of hydroxyurea and a 81 mg daily. My platelets have been very stubborn but I don’t have the same side effects from my illness that you have.

I’m getting tested for Covid this morning because my partner has had a fever for three days and I am very achy. So we’re both getting tested this morning.

Sounds like things are pretty stable. Variance from 701 to 735 is not a significant change. The pins and needles sounds like a microvascular symptom. you might want to talk to your doc about upping the low dose aspirin to twice a day. Some people need to higher dose to control symptoms.

Thank you, Jody. I feel like I’ve been careful for so long but we went to an outdoor picnic on Saturday and it was very crowded and I was hugging people which now I realize that was probably a mistake. Still, I’m not sure if I have Covid. I should know within the hour.

The covid19 rules have now changed saying we can go out if we do not want to stay at home I think this is silly because I wouldn't want to go out meet other people to spread this around its not right unreal if u ask me xx

Hi JodyI’m ET Jak2+ Currently taking aspirin 100mg. I was diagnosed in 2019. My first Haem wanted me to take HU but I was very hesitant so was changed to aspirin only. I also have tinnitus and my platelet count is 777 (used to be 599 then up and down, reached 890 once then went down). I get exhausted sometimes but a good rest/sleep makes me feel better. I get tingling on my feet once in a while. My other worry is that my iron is very low at the moment so I’m taking supplement. My ferritin is also very low. My haemoglobin and my haematocrit are fine. My RDW and my RCC are slightly up. My Haem is taking the wait and see approach. I’m taking vitamins and curcumin. Hope you’re feeling better. Take care!
