I had (successful) IVF treatment in 1994 due to PCOS. In 2005 I was diagnosed with ET. Subsequently JAK2 mutation was identified.

Is there a link between IVF and ET?
The JAK2 mutation is an acquired somatic mutation found in hemopoietic stem cells. This mutation may occur in early childhood then take decades to manifest as a MPN. I have never heard of a link to IVF and the JAK2 mutation. Theoretically, a mutagenic agent could be a possible culprit to triggering a mutation, but I do not think that applies here.
I got curious and looked. There may be a link to PCOS and thrombocytosis.

This does not mean there is a causal link between PCOS and ET; however a pro-inflammatory environment is conducive to the progression of MPNs. The body is an integrated set of systems. Sometimes even "unrelated" conditions can impact each other in ways that are not always well understood.
Truly answering your question is way beyond my own scope of knowledge. I am in a possible similar situation in having both JAK2+PV and NF1. These two conditions/mutations do interact with each other but how is now well understood.
Your question is a good one. Certainly run it by a MPN Specialist. I have run the JAK2-NF1 question by my MPN and NF specialists. The answer was "That is a really good question."
Do please keep asking your question and let us know what you learn. We can all benefit from increased knowledge.
