Hi Fltodd, you can edit your original post to amend it to say Exon 12, if you click on the More drop down arrow, you will see Edit. Best wishes, Maz

Hi Fltodd,

I have the Exon 12 mutation as well. Yes it is rare and because of that, has not really been studied separately. I posed the question if anyone had an exon 12 mutation a week or so ago, and no one identified themselves. There is a paper by Linda Scott "the JAK2 exon 12 mutations: a comprehensive review" in 2011 which summarizes some of the characteristics. You should be able to get copy on internet. I was diagnosed in December 2020 and went to an MPN specialist and it seems that Exon 12 is mostly treated the same as other 617f mutations. What is different for me, is that my red blood cells and hematocrit are very high but my platelets and white blood cells are generally normal (my whites are actually a little low). It seems that each case of p-vera is somewhat unique and presents treatment challenges based on blood characteristics.

if you have specific questions, I might be able to help. good luck, gvibe
