Hi so I've just been diagnosed with ET getting a positive jak2 result. I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed and a little in shock. Having a form of lupus I was convinced the platelet elevation was coming from that. My platelets normally run from 500 to 600. I'm just wondering about symptoms, I don't have any at the minute. However, I've had back and shoulder pain since the beginning of Dec that docs can't seem to get to the bottom of. Does anyone think this could this be related to ET? Thanks.

hello 106776, it can be very daunting when the diagnosis is confirmed, and I know from your previous posts that you have been waiting a couple of months for the results of your tests. It is quite scary and we all completely understand how you are feeling at the moment, and I hope that the information on our website and the support you have been getting from the lovely people on this forum has been helping you, and will continue to help you.
With regards to your back and shoulder pain, not sure if it is related to your ET, one of the side effects that many people do get is bone pain, so it could be related, have you discussed it with your haematologist or haematology nurse specialist at all?
best wishes, Maz
