I'm fed up! shield then not go back to work shield again taking the piss.

I've just got a new job and starting to regret it, not what you want. I don't want to be shielding again as its not good for my career. Its been made to go on hold for over 6 months, I'm scared this will affect my career in progression for being off to much. This is so depressing

BoJo says that we in tranche 4 of vaccine rollout will have been jabbed by mid February, but you can tell when BoJo is lying - it's every time his lips move.

Technically you aren't being forced to shield but it's been put in to protect you should you wish to usd it. You don't have to follow it but your employer has to support you if you want to. They may ask you to sign something if you mention that you have a shielding letter & aren't following it. The government are trying to support everyone, unfortunately many aren't keeping their distance & doing the basics that they should. Hubby never gets a shielding letter but doesn't work due to his health, he won't shield away from us in the house but I have been cautious when I'm out & working. I haven't seen friends or family except my parents for months, but I know if hubby was working he'd ignore the shielding letter anyway because it's who he is. There isn't a right or a wrong other than mask, space & wash hands must be followed but talk to your employer & see how you can make it work. Showing you are proactive & conscientious will be noted, use this to show how amazing you are, use it to your advantage, see it as a positive opportunity not a negative... Stay safe!!
