I expect that this will be the case. I think this version of the Corona virus is here to stay in the ecosystem. It will likely cycle and vary just like different forms of influenza do. Likely, the virus will mutate and change over time. The best we can hope for is to contain and treat it the best we can until an effective vaccine is developed.
That does tie into opening things back up. Our economies cannot sustain the lockdown until a vaccine becomes available. Carefully phasing in the reopening is critical at this stage. People need to eat and have a roof over their heads. People have to work to make this happen. I think we each have to take responsibility for ourselves and reenter social and work environments in a prudent fashion. While leadership from our governments in the process of reopening is important, it does not replace personal responsibility.
Hopefully our leaders will push forward vaccine development, make Personal Protective Equipment more available, promote effective COVID testing, and wisely phase in the reopening process. We need to hold our leaders accountable, while at the same time taking responsibility for doing our part to keep everyone as safe as we can be in the current situation.
Just my thoughts. I hope you all stay well and safe as we reenter a more open and workable situation.
Some very wise advice flowing from your quill buddy...
Personal responsibility, unfortunately will come in all shapes and sizes... It is the scientific cause & effect, caused by ignorance, that perturbs me the most...
It may well be that a vaccine is not found, and that management of the condition much like having an MPN, is the best we have in the shorter term...
These are unsettling times indeed...
Stay safe & well...
Steve
PS. I am presently also working on my 'PLAN-B' for our next FR effort, hopefully, scheduling presently for November 2020... Fingers crossed.
