Have just received a very welcome ‘basic groceries’ package from the government. I am very surprised as my doctor’s surgery won’t recognise me as vulnerable (despite two phone calls to them), even though my haematology consultant has! I self-registered on the government website (the only advice the surgery could give me was to self-register!) which I did, and eventually received an online shopping slot with Iceland ( maybe they just pick a supermarket for you as I haven’t heard from the others?)
Anyway, I am very grateful indeed as I am shielding for the full 12 weeks and it’s nice to think I’ve not been forgotten in all of this... we ARE all in it together!
Keep well everyone xxx

That's great news. I glad you have that reassurance too. Out of interest D'you recall how long between registering online and getting your delivery online. I'm still not recognised with a supermarket yet bey got my letter 2 wks ago from my harm.
Ooh...I did go back and re-register a couple of times as I hadn’t heard anything, but I think it was about 2 weeks before I got an online slot. In fact, it does tell you that if your circumstances change you can re-register and at one point I had no-one available to do my shopping so I ticked that box online and I think it was that, that started things moving.
I have just opened the door to find my parcel from the government on the doorstep. I haven’t received ’the letter’ though. I have been offered delivery slots from both Tesco and Sainsburys so that is one source of stress that has gone away.
I was helped by my local Covid19 support group last Friday when I discovered my car battery was flat when I had to go for a blood transfusion. There is a great deal of kindness out there. With all that and support from my family in as many ways as they can from a distance I am feeling very blessed.
I hope you are all well and keeping safe. Very best wishes, Jan x
