PV & fatigue

I've posted a few times before asking about how to handle really bad fatigue. I'm finding over time that I am doing a little better. It's not that I don't feel it at all. It sometimes feels like I'm trudging up a hill with sandbags on my shoulders.

However, I find that a solid night's sleep is key. In order to do that, I'm exercising a lot, walking miles every day or biking. Not easy with the quarantine, but I'm avoiding everyone as much as possible.

I also find that IF I can manage to push myself, I feel better. I go outside for a few minutes, stretch (as someone on the list advised) just even for a bit, water our new trees, go wash dishes or fold laundry.

The main thing is to move. The more I do, the better I feel. The less I do, the worse I feel.

Maybe all of this was obvious to others, but on the off chance it helps, I thought to share. I know that tomorrow I could feel overwhelmed by fatigue, but these are the things that have helped so far.

Glad to hear it is going a bit better. I also agree 100% about the importance of keeping yourself moving and getting adequate sleep. I would add to that the importance of not overdoing it on caffeine or other stimulants. I also think that good nutrition is a huge key yo managing fatigue and other issues as well. For indoor activity, I highly recommend Qigong (Tai Chi, etc.) There really is something helpful about the energy flow.

Yes, even I could sleep all day, and sometimes I do, I try and move as I tend to feel better after it. I also know if i haven't drunk enough water as this always brings on fatigue. All keep safe.

Fully agree with you.

I found that over time I gradually learned when to push myself and when I needed to take it easy.

I agree. I have MF and the ironic thing since the Covid 19 breakout, I’ve been walking in my neighborhood more than ever. Getting out in the fresh air has been invigorating and it definitely helps me sleep better. Of course, we practice social distancing at all times.

I have read that Covid19 has fatigue as one of it's symptoms! So does Polycythaemia Rubra Vera. How do we tell if our fatigue is due to PV or are we in the throws of Covid 19 creeping in by the back door? Any thoughts members ?
