On Wednesday evening I got a text from the NHS Coronavirus Service confirming that I have been categorised as being extremely vulnerable (I am ET JAK2+, age 70 and on hydroxy). So the good news is that I now qualify for priority food deliveries (Tesco contacted me tonight offering this) and the bad news is that I am not supposed to leave my home for 12 weeks. So a mixed blessing, but such a relief to have a clear statement.
As it happens, I received my first full online food delivery today (Morrisons) so I wont need to take a priority slot for a week or two, but its good to know its there when needed.
For those of you still struggling to get on the list, I self registered initially (2-3 weeks ago) and then reregistered last weekend. I'm not sure if this triggered the NHS to respond, but it might be worth trying self registration (btw, answer "don't know" when asked if you have received a letter from NHS) - assuming you haven't. The website is gov.uk/coronavirus-extremel...
Good luck, keep safe and pleases stay at home

Hi been there done it registered the lot, got two offers one was Asda the other was Sainsburys well that was a waste of time tried on line to get a slot to no avail, so then called the number on the e.mail as they could not find me on the extremely vulnerable list and told me to come back after 48 hours which is tomorrow so will have to wait and see, tomorrow’s another day.
That is good news John. Had something similar but as my wife is with me, she was told by Tesco’s that they couldn’t guarantee a priority delivery slot and the government guidelines are that she would have to go to the supermarket and get the shopping for us. So even though I am in the high risk category the government believes it’s ok for her to go to supermarkets and do our shopping. These certainly are unprecedented times and we’ll have to see how it all pans out. Good luck to you.
I tried registering on the government site and got a reply yesterday basically telling me to do one. I have to wait for letter from GP or Clinician apparently. My GP is useless and according to s text yesterday is now re-locating for the duration so no wonder I couldn't get through on the phone to ask!
I am waiting for a letter from Guys as had to ask them, so that should swing it.
I think the key is to be on the government list of extremely vulnerable people. Once Tesco recognise you as being on the list it is an automated process - you just tick the box for priority delivery, their system recognises your email address and you are away.
Exactly what's happened with me. No letter but texts after registering myself and an offer from Tesco and now from Asda. Have gone with Asda as it's free delivery . So if you prefer Asda wait a while after the Tesco offer as I got both a few days apart. One less worry.
Just FYI, my brother in law opted to go with Asda and he has been located a weekly slot, but also told that if he doesn't place an order for 2 consecutive weeks you will be taken off the list.
