So I've just had a call from the haematology department at my local hospital. (Ayrshire and Arran). My next appointment was for Monday 30th March at 9.15 am. I did have a call yesterday at 8.45 am saying that my next appointment would be by telephone near the time of my next appointment. I didn't take this to mean 3 days prior to the arranged date/time. I spoke to someone I've never heard of or seen before. He told me that my platelets are at 970, (highest ever) my RBC is 0.65 and my haematocrit is 0 46 so all is well. I had to disagree with him. I now have a venesection booked and will get a letter to tell me when and where. Is it just me, or are we just getting seen by students who just want to tick a box on their test papers!

Hi rob, my platelets are consistently around 1400 mark since I came of treatment. My team at guys say they are ok with that provided I have regular checks, every 8 weeks, if I hit the 1500 mark then I’ll need to consider treatment again.x
