Hey everyone... :D

Not sure that all of you might find this of interest, however I did, so here it is...

This conjecture is loosely based around the 'Out of Africa' hypothesis, yet the logic seems simple and elegant enough in design to be be possible, in my view of course...

It also appears that the dreaded term, 'INFLAMMATION' plays a double role & also protects us from certain pathogens...

In any event, it makes for an interesting read...

Best wishes

INTRO' EXCERPT

Some of the same mutations allowing humans to fend off deadly infections also make us more prone to certain inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, such as Crohn's disease. In a Review published November 27 in the journal Trends in Immunology, researchers describe how ancestral origins impact the likelihood that people of African or Eurasian descent might develop immune-related diseases. The authors also share evidence that the human immune system is still evolving depending on a person's location or lifestyle.

"In the past, people's lifespans were much shorter, so some of these inflammatory and autoimmune diseases that can appear in the second half of life were not so relevant," says first author Jorge Dominguez-Andres, a postdoctoral researcher at Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Science in the Netherlands. "Now that we live so much longer, we can see the consequences of infections that happened to our ancestors."

One of the body's best defenses against infectious diseases is inflammation...

I found this very interesting reading. Thanks for posting. I have always wondered what our mutation is about on an evolutionary level, in the bigger picture. This provides some insights.

You are most welcome...

And as do I...

Personally, I find this truly fascinating! The sheer depth of each of our own complexities, when it comes to beginning to comprehend our unique cumulative experiences in this journey we call life...

Yes, it appears that there are so many levels of understanding, and only once we endeavour to assemble the disparate pieces can we finally glean a glimpse of a much bigger organism at play...

Erroneously, we might be forgiven, for wanting to believe that a single pill, or drug can solve or manage all our problems... But life is connected to life on so many levels, and just another reason why, in my view, that holistic approaches are essential tools of wellness...

Fascinating indeed! 8-)

Hey Fran... 8-)

Take your time to absorb as much as you can...

Evolution, and the continual modification of the human genome seems a never-ending process. We are constantly remodelling ourselves over eons to meet subtle and anticipated environmental impacts in order to survive...

Makes for a rather interesting 'Who Done it?' Does it not? ;-)
