Is jak 2 negative a good sign ?
? ET: Is jak 2 negative a good sign ? - MPN Voice
? ET
In a way yes, although it doesn't mean that another mutation such as Calr can't be present
Hi this information in a previous edition of our newsletter might explain it a bit more for you: mpnvoice.org.uk/documents/n...
Thank you for posting the newsletter, but I don’t understand Jak2 negative versus Jak2 positive. Can anyone explain it to me in a simple non-medical terms.
Negative means you havent got it!, like me. Positive means you have Jak 2 mutation in one of your Gene's. People can still have ET with no mutations. I have the CALR mutation which was a positive blood test when I had it in 2015.
I have MDS and ET triple negative, which means no-one knows why I have this condition! Some people get upset when told they have JAK2 but I don't know whether having a mutation is good or bad. I think it's just another thing we don't know much about so it's got to be bad, they think.
