Hello. The Haematologist will normally do this blood test to help understand the detailed markers in your genes. This helps them advice you on care for your condition and gives them clues..

Hey Avamia94... :-)

Gene Panel Sequencing Tests are often performed to see if there are any other mutations present.

For example:

I am Post ET / Myelofibrosis. My 'Driver Mutation' is - CALR+ Type2, (whereas many are often JAK2+ etc), & I am also ASXL1+ (considered to be a High Risk mutation).

Nevertheless, I am still here after 3 years plus and getting stronger everyday with both my new dietary & exercise (cycling) regime...

Staying as fit & healthy as I can really makes a difference to my Quality of Life (QoL)...

And it can for yours too I am sure... :-)
