I have been seeing a chiropractor since last week (my 4th adjustment was today). My MRI showed a slight scoliosis, desiccation of L2-L3, L3-L4 and L4-L5. Annular tear and mild posterior bulging of L2-L3, L3-L4 and L4-L5 discs indenting thecal sac with the L4-L5 Disc abutting bilateral traversing L5 nerve roots . The chiropractor thinks I have the same desiccation in my neck and also my pelvis is crooked. I'm wondering if I should be having treatment as I have ET (I did tell him about it). I'm having even more tingling in my hands and feet than I did before I started the treatment, and seem to develop a headache each time I go there. Should I be concerned?

Not too sure about this one. I have been seeing chiro for about 4 years especially for neck problems & migraines/occipital nerve compression. A couple of days after starting gentle neck/head stretches & strengthening exercises I noticed a huge improvement in nerve pain. The idea is to be aware of posture & activities 24/7 & knowing your limits. I myself concluded the first thing is to develop strength in these areas to help support the spine. A physiotherapist will guide you with the correct exercises. You may even combine therapies to compliment each other.
Here is a general link to dessication of spine (loss of fluid etc). Spine loses fluid throughout the day and lying on back for 10 minutes can help replace a little fluid.
Hi Debborah, sorry to hear this, you should discuss this with the chiropractor before having any further treatments just to be sure that everything is ok, and also it might be an idea to speak to your GP as well. Best wishes, Maz
Hi. Never used a chiropractor but definitely agree with Maz. I do know from my oncologist that I’m not supposed to have massages with firm pressure. Hope you see your other dogs before going further. Thanks for the link! Katie
Sorry, ‘dogs’ was supposed to be “docs”.
