Mds/mpd overlap

Has anyone been treated with hydrea for overlap? Will it drop my Hb?

Hi there, my husband was diagnosed with mds/Mon overlap unclassified 4 weeks ago, after struggling with his health for 4 years. He had 4 bmb before being referred to a centre of excellexcellence. He was started on hydroxycarbamide 500mg daily for 2 weeks. It brought the high white blood cell count down, but not emough so the dose was doubled to 1000mg a day. However, 2 weeks later his platelet count has been driven down to 20 and he has been taken off it. I am in despair as now he has no medica6. Back to haematologist next week.
