I was wondering if people have had any success with remission using this drug for certain amount of years. Is there hope to reduce their burden even if is 56%.

Yes (well kind of)
My wife has PCV and used to have venesection every six weeks or so. After a few years of having yo-yo blood levels her doctor decided to try peg interferon to see if that would help her.
She injected once a week and her levels kept dropping until they were so low that she had to come off the injection. Her levels gradually started to rise again until they were in the ideal range and for some reason they just stayed there. This was about four years ago now and in that whole time her blood readings have never once been anything other than normal.
She is still Jak 2 positive but apart from that she has no other signs or symptoms of having PCV.
So for us the injection was perfect
Pegasys can reduce the allele burden. The clinical significance of this is unclear
