Flu vaccination- intramuscular or subcutaneous aministration.Does it matter?

Hi. My husband reacted quite badly to the flu and pneumonia vaccines a few years ago. After that he was advised by one of the haematologists to try the flu jab subcutaneously and has had a less severe reaction by this route. However I think there is some evidence that it is less effective by the subcutaneous route?? His regular haematologist thinks the route would make no difference to the reaction. Now we are not sure what to do this year- intramuscular with a chance of a worse reaction but fully effective immunisation or subcutaneously but possibly less effective ??

We would welcome any responses and especially to know what advice others with Myelofibrosis have been given. Thank you.
