Absolutely you should see your GP or visit Urgent Care without delay. You need to rule out any serious problem.

But also bear in mind that the time around diagnosis can be a period of intense stress. And with that comes heightened anxiety which means the kind of physical symptoms that can manifest themselves - rashes, stomach issues, uncomfortable sensations in the chest and with breathing. It also gives you a heightened sense of potential symptoms sometimes associated with the disease. And all these things can exacerbate the fatigue.

It’s a really confusing time. I found many of these thing subsided as time went by and I became more familiar with the condition and my status as an MPNer. And also under the care of a clinical team in whom I had trust.

You are in limbo right now - between an intitial diagnosis from your GP and awaiting your first haematologist appointment. It’s a really difficult time. Yes, do read up on the condition via a reliable website like MPN Voice but also try and divert yourself in the next six weeks. I know, easier said than done! All the very best.
