This looks potentially very interesting

Best wishes to all
Although too late for me personally, something that can limit GvHD will be a welcome breakthrough for those who have to have a SCT.
Hi Jan, as you say this does look very interesting, it's good to know there is research going on to reduce the impact of severe GVHD. My consultant visited the MD Anderson centre in Texas(?), a couple of years back I think and saw that even there in a top clinic they couldn't stop some people dying from the worst cases of GVHD. He told me he came back determined to throw everything at his worst patients including me to see if it would help save lives. This resulted in me having a couple of experimental treatments alongside the usual ie not reducing immuno-suppressant drugs. And I take Ruxolitinib. Fortunately it has worked in my case.
On a different topic I hope your spleen is behaving itself. And your counts are holding up.
Thanks for posting , I will mention this when I'm at clinic.
Chris
Hi Chris. I thought this might make you prick up your ears! It is certainly worth asking about. I’m just pleased to see that there is quite a lot of research going on out there for us. As I start to feel the progression of this beast I sometimes wonder about my decision regarding SCT. However it seemed like a simple decision at the time. Glad to hear Ruxolitinib is working for you now better than before your transplant it seems
Take care x
Hello Jan
This is very interesting. I wonder when they’ll start trials on humans?
And how is your quest to be given Pacritinib?
Paula
Hi Paula. Yes it’s very interesting. No mention of timescale for human trials though. I am seeing my consultant this Thurs to find out if anything is happening re pacritinib. Now that I’m showing resistance to Ruxolitinib with my spleen enlargement I hope things will get moving quite quickly. However I know that that is not always the case! I’ll keep you posted
