Change of Pegasys Dose

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped and replied to my post on Friday regarding my pegasys dose. I have successfully after speaking to the clinical nurse specialist reduced my dose to 90mcg/0.5ml. Without the information and support of this forum I wouldn't have known to challenge the original dose. So a huge thank you

Jen

That’s great Jen, I’m starting Pegasys on Friday, 45mcg to get me started. Really hoping it drops my numbers and helps with the fatigue. My new consultant also told me today that although I’m deemed as low risk 39yo/1072 pc I’m now medium risk as I get migraines which I never suffered from before. I really hope I don’t get hit with the bad side effects!

Kerry :-)

Fingers crossed for you, I am a couple of years older than you with PV, been on Roferon Interferon for 5mths- but just switched to pegasys due to side effects. After only one dose of pegasys I feel much better and it's nice only to be injecting once a week instead of 4 times. I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing your progress

Wonderful news Jen! Very happy for you and so glad you queried the dose. Often we have to be our own advocates. I hope the 90mcg works very well for you - as it did for me! All the best, Susana xxx

I’m so keen to hear how you get on. After over two years my platelets are still not stable.

Good luck
