Hydroxy is doing it's thing!

Good news. Saw my consultant yesterday and after doubling my meds a month ago my platelets have come down by over 200 and I don't have to go back for 8 weeks!

Bad news. I have a stinker of a cold, It began last week for 2 days, it disappeared, wonderful, I thought, that was easy. Then this week it's back with a vengeance.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Great news. Does it take longer to get rid of a cold with ET + Hydroxy, I’ve had a sticker cold and can’t seem to shift it.

I believe the Hydroxy doesn't only kill platelets but red and white cells too, which then means your immune system is not quite so efficient Raffles.

I like the good news and hope your cold soon clears up xx

Thank you Helen, so do I. I have rarely had any trouble fighting things off in the past, so I will notice if they hang around or I catch more colds etc. X

Well done Mica, really good news, know how you feel with this cold lark!!! Had one in November, went away but now back big time cough, runny nose and to boot a mouth fall of ulcers yuk !! Which do not help, but think it must be the season or that time of year, we all seem to carry on as if nothing is wrong, then when we go out into the big wide world and people around you cough and sneeze it seems to find us peeps with no immune system and then bang within days we have snotty noses hacking coughs and in my case mouth full of horrible ulcers, tried upping my intake of vitamin c but to no avail.

Apart from that you are doing really well.

Hope you have a great Christmas despite the cold.

Jean 🎅🤶

Oh Jean, mouth ulcers too? I really shouldn't complain, that must be awful. I just had a coughing fit in the supermarket, if it wasn't me doing the coughing I'd have laughed, tears streaming down my face listening to jingly Christmas music over the speaker system and people asking if I needed help...haha! you've got to laugh, I could have said, "Yes please, would you mind coughing for me?"

I always start coughing in the supermarket as soon as I get near the chiller cabinets. Happens even when I'm fit and well. Cough when I eat or drink anything straight from the fridge too. Always have to leave Ice cream to melt a bit. Very embarrassing having a coughing fit like that in the supermarket or restaurant.

I will pay attention next time I am shopping, I had walked from the chiller section just before it happened this time. Red in the face, barking like a dog and tears streaming, so attractive.

I would like to have the Shingles Jab but am a bit worried about taking the Hydroxy. Has anyone had the jab yet?
