Nerve damage
Hi Benjamin, so hard when no one replies, so just saying hi and wondering if you could say a bit more about the 'nerve damage'?
Kindest regards, Tinkerbell13
Hi Tinkerbell
Thanks for replying have had numb feet when walking and pins and needles when sitting this is all the time no let up. Had pins n needless intermittently before I was diagnosed but as soon as I started to take aspirin it immediately stopped. Also had a swollen foot and leg consultant thought might be blood clot but after having scan this was ruled out . It was him who suggested that the pins n needles might be nerve damage from Hydroxy back to see him tomorrow.
Hi again, Benjamin, it will be good for you to see the consultant tomorrow. Yes, used to have pins and needles with Hydroxy - also shingles, which is nerve pain, plus leg pain...but know for everyone it is different and have come across people who have been on it for very many years without any problem. The great thing is to feel confidence in your Consultant, that he listens to all your concerns and that you have any tests you feel you need. If you are happy to do so, please let us know on the excellent MPN site how you get on tomorrow. So many caring people here who really do support one another and will want to support you. Wish you all the very best. Tinkerbell13
Hi, I developed nerve damage and ulcers on my feet from hydroxy. I had been taking it for 3 years before that developed. When I was changed to Anagrelide the ulcers cleared up but the doctor says the nerve damage is probably permanent. I take Amitryptilene for the pain from the nerve damage. have tried reducing it but it is still very painful without the tablets!
Hope you're not suffering with it!
