Sweating

My hsband has PV for the last 3 years and is on HU and aspirin. He sweats excessively and certainly not proportional to whatever he is doing.Whilst out walking this summer he regularly had to wring his hat out, it was that bad. At night too while sleeping. Anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on ways to help reduce it? Thanks

I get the excessive sweating of my face and head too with minimal exertion, absolutely dripping, and I feel a bit shaky too. I have ET and take Hydroxy.

I need to increase my fluid intake after an episode or I get cramp painfully in my legs later.

I have read that Ranitidine has been useful for this. It may be worth asking your doctor or haematologist. I feel loath to add yet another drug to the collection.

I don't get excessive sweating but I do get occasional hot sweats which make me feel shaky. Mention it to your doctor or haematologist.

Best wishes

I have sweats and not only at night . . I find if I am stressed or worked up they happen.. or if I raise my cardiovascular activities. . Mainly head area and my neck and head are freezing but rest of me hot..

Drink plenty of water and try and relax.

So sorry, can only answer and say have not discovered what to do. Lovely haematologist always says the same, they don't know the cause and haven't yet found a cure. I have ET and my mother had PV and can remember her awful sweats in her 80's and I have them, v v bad at nights, but coming more frequently in the day. Reckon we all need to drink lots of water, but so far haven't found anything to help, just have to put up with it....sympathies for your husband, though, as it is not much fun.
