Yeah its a nasty side issue of our MPNS , , I was plagued with it over the years , bathing or burning up was enough to trigger it. . I feel for you lizzziep and hope that it eases to let you carry on with your day in comfort. . . People who haven't experienced it don't / cant grasp it. . . . . My best wishes your way x

I haven't had itching but I watched the webinar recently run by MPN voice (I hope that's right Maz will know) and the subject of itching was given quite an airing on there with what seemed like very sensible advice from one of the speakers who has managed to achieve a great deal of control over it for herself. So an email to Maz to see if the video that was made is still available might offer a little bit of useful advice. I am sorry though, when our bodies don't function normally it is so distressing. I hope you find some help.

Thank you for replies. It has eased a bit now. I go swimming a lot and that can sometimes trigger it, haven't had it for a while though. It's mainly my hands and feet that itch like mad. I felt like scrubbing my hands and feet with a wire brush. I didn't want to take an antihistamine as I take enough tablets to rattle as I walk as it is! Hey ho - things could be worse!

Oh I sympathise. I find anti histamine work well, along with moisturisers, drink lots of water. Hope this helps, kind regards Aime xx

Hello fellow itcher's, my itching got so bad I was referred for Photo-therapy at my hospital. I have had so far 24/3 times a week treatment standing in a UVB light box starkers , now I am on 2/ weekly course and then I will be reduced further down the line. It has helped my itching no end. I can now go out for the evening without someone in my group of friends grabbing my hands and saying stop scratching. It really does help so if any of you are really suffering ask your' Haemo' to recommend you to the skin specialist. Good health to you all.x

At least you didn't have to do it in one of those photo booths in the supermarket!
