I have PV, am Jak2 positive and being treated with Hydroxyurea and phlebotomy. Has anyone tried hemp oil to stop proliferation of cells?

Hi 1zica1, if you go back over the posts until you get to the one "Run from the cure ....." there was quite a frank discussion about the use of hemp oil - about 2 months ago. Hope this helps. Kind regards Aime

Thanks Aime. I am tempted to give it a try as it seems to reduce the proliferation of cells. ( I have used hemp oil to successfully eliminate basal cell cancer spots on my nose).

I was diagnosed with ET ten years ago and at the time was Jak2 negative. I was able to reduce my platelet count with a 30 day course of hydroxy about twice a year. However my latest blood work revealed very high rbc, high platelets and high wbc. The hydroxy doesn't seem to be reducing the platelets as well as it did. I am also anaemic now. Was retested for Jak2 and am now positive. Had a full abdominal scan and my spleen is not enlarged. Will be having 3 phlebotomies over the next few weeks and have been put on daily hydroxy (500 mg). Any advice?

I live in Ottawa Canada for 6 months of the year and Puerto Escondido Mexico for 6 months.

I am also looking for a haematologist in Oaxaca or Mexico City, Mexico.

Many thanks for all of the advice and information on this forum.

Hi 1zica1, as Aime has said there is a post about hemp oil - run from the cure - I would like to reiterate that MPD Voice has not endorsed the use of hemp oil or any related hemp products and we would strongly advise that you speak to your haematologist before you use hemp products. The post was allowed purely because we felt people are entitled to make up their own minds with using any product, but with the advice to check first. Kind regards, Maz.

Thanks Mazcd. Will definitely talk to my dr first but wondered if anyone had tried hemp oil and how effective it is for mpd's.

This is a problem. Please look at some of Rick Simpson's videos on utube. He discusses this. It is not legal in Canada.

Hi, I did see Rick Simpson video, but still not sure how one can get this genuine hemp oil. I understand that this is illegal in Canada but I am sure there are ways to get this in UK but I am not certain how to get this oil in UK and to know that is real. Wishing you the best.

Hi Light, MPD voice does not endorse any treatment options but provides factual medical evidence. Maz.

I would like to find out if anyone with MPD's has tried this. I have treated basal cell cancer successfully with hemp oil. I certainly understand that MPD voice cannot endorse any treatment options but would like to know if anyone has tried it for this type of cancer.
