anyone have results of their MRI s with any strange or unusual findings pertaining to the cause of their migraine?
first MRI: anyone have results of their... - National Migraine...
first MRI
have had two brain MRIs which showed up nothing relating to migraine. I think this is usual if you have migraine.
I had an MRI scan many years ago which showed up I had a tempra mandibular jaw which the consultant said was part of a group of problems involved in my migraine. He said I had a worn sinus which can be quite common.
Some years later, I had a whiplash accident which at least gave me a chance to have a CT scan of my neck which I had wanted for several years but are not given very easily. This showed narrowing of the artery between cervical vertebra 5 and vertebra 6. At least I know now when I am getting migraine why I feel confused and that the blood flow to my brain has been altered.
I will have to try the coke and aspirin recently recommended by NMC. Have tried coke and paracetamol but had not thought of putting dispersible aspirin in the can of coke.
How did you get on with MRI or are you yet to have it?
I had a brain MRI and subsequently spinal MRI recently. I had multiple lesions in the Periventricular area mostly which was suggested in the report to resemble Demyelinating disease (Multiple Sclerosis is the most common of these diseases). I then had a Spinal MRI and was sent to a Neurologist. I had been told before hand it looked like MS.
I saw the Neurologist who said immediately when I entered his room that I do not have MS and that my migraine history is the reason for the abnormal MRI. I have been suffering a huge host of Neurological symptoms for a couple of years with dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, fatigue, numbness and much more.
I know I will have another MRI in the near future to ensure this doctor is correct but I have heard that this is something that can be found on MRI's in some people with Migraine history. I think it's a sort of scarring.
If you get any abnormalities like this try not to stress to much until you have seen the Neurologist as it only causes undue worry about something that may not be what you think.
I have Dizziness, Nausea, numbness etc. daily still and less than monthly get an actual Migraine headache so the Neuro thinks it's a case of having a Silent Migraine or Vertigo Migraine or Neurological Migraine or many other names it comes under. I'm not completely convinced as I had an actual Migraine HEADACHE a couple of days ago and the Neuro symptoms should have subsided but I am no different but the headache has gone. I didn't think you could constantly have a Migraine be it with the head pain or without.
I hope this helps.
Good luck with your MRI.
