Hi I was put on them 2 weeks ago, but after 11 days, I got bad side effects, heart racing, dizziness, and bad migrane. I'm now on higher dose amitriptyline. Everyone's different though, so hopefully you will be ok and they will help you. Best wishes x

Thanks Mary and sorry to hear about that for you. I have been concerned about the cognitive side effects too so perhaps will keep looking into others. Hope yours helps for you too x

You can search Topiramate here and you should find previous discussions, for example: healthunlocked.com/migraine...

I was on it for a week and developed some memory issues. I stopped taking it and that resolved quickly

I know some people that have had no problem with it. I was really hoping it was the magic med. Now I'm on sumatriptan which is taken at the start of the headache. It's been a miracle for me.

Best of luck

Yeh think we all hope that we are going to find something that eventually will work for us!! Yes sumatriptan have been an absolute godsend for me when I do get them. 9 out 10 times they work thank goodness and bonus can actually buy them from chemist aswell if run out of prescription onesThanks

Hi. I can’t take most of the usual meds, including yours. But I take NURTEC as a prophylactic & it helps-doesn’t eliminate but helps. You need to work with your insurance or it’ll cost a fortune. Good luck. Katie

Thats interesting Katie thanks and will have a look into them too. Yes does mount up what you can spend to try all these things but at the same time when something works it feels priceless. When I have a really bad one and have got something important to me planned, would pay quite a bit everytime! Thanks

Hi, I was on Topiramate for about 6 months for epilepsy. It was one of the worst medications I have taken with so many side effects. Headaches, dizziness, weight gain (although they say one should lose weight), heartburn, dry mouth, and so much more. Everyone is different. It might work for you.

Whoa that doesn't sound good and yes I know different things work for different people but I'm going to give them a miss for now. Thanks for your info x

Good luck with anything you find. One doesn't know until one tries the medication too.

Hi ,Not for me!! I had dreadful side effects and my dentist lost most of her hair whilst taking it. I am now back on amitriptyline riboflavin and co enzyme . All working really well. You need to be prepared to wait for three months for the vitamins to kick in.

Oh no yet another couple of people that it wasn't good for! Thanks for replying and glad yours working for you. Yeh thats fair enough and another 3 months after getting them for nearly 50 years is doable!!! Especially if ends up helping. I've got chrons aswell and have read magnesium can help with that too so hoping and praying im going to get a double miracle 🙈🙏🤣 x

Hi it is working for me. Yes there are side effects, but most went away after a few months. I have become a bit forgetful but for the first time in 60 years I am waking up pain free 99% of the time. Ideally something would work 100% without side effects, but I have never found it. Good luck.

Thats good thats its working for you. I work with young children with special needs and organise lots of events so decided I don't want to chance any adverse effect with memory etc but really happy for you how much better things are. Thanks

I would be careful! They make people go crazy and I m surprised (or not surprised) this is still available. The firs sdie effects noted in the pack or awful. I prsonally felt anxious and could not stop crying the whole summr.
