Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your replies to my last question, I have another one:
I have of course been told by the neurologist via my GP about the increase in dosage and I know that I think I'm supposed to increase slowly to 100mg .
However, I have read that maintenance dose is anywhere from 50mg to 100mg per day but wonder if it is OK to stick with 50 if it works? Or is it better to aim high then reduce, or slowly increase?
So far I have had no issues apart from blissfully headache free days.
What have been your experiences with dosing?
Thanks

My doctor told me to stick with a dosage that works. I’d speak with your doctor again and if 50mg is working fine for you it doesn’t seem to make sense to increase if there’s no need to. I also take 400mg of Riboflavin which has really helped me too along with my Topiramate.
I would say If you are headache free and it’s working that you should contact your doctor about the increase, as far as I’m aware the idea is to take the minimum dose that prevents symptoms. You would only be increasing the dose if you were symptomatic. But I’m no doctor so there might be other reasons.
Hi I took Topiramate for migraines and gradually increased up to 100mg a day i was concerned as the side effects read quite scary but all i had were pins and needles in hands and feet occasionally and a queasy feeling sometimes but also lost weight which i was quite happy about, hope it helps best of luck, Lucie.
