Hi, Does anyone have any experience of sphenoid sinusitus? Have been suffering from headaches for the last two months, which has been mainly attributed to chronic migraine although I've also been referred to rheumatology after some other test results. My MRI scan, which was initially reported as clear has been reviewed though and the radiologist suspects chronic sphenoid sinusitis. Seeing an ENT in a couple of days but just wonering if anyone had any experience?

Sphenoid sinusitis
Never heard of it so I looked it up - poor you, must be very uncomfortable. I do wonder if other people have this and it just doesn't get diagnosed - migraine does sometimes seem to be a sort of catch all term when there's nothing obviously wrong, so I think you were lucky that the radiologist picked up on it. Hope the ENT people are helpful in sorting it out.

I agree. I’ve increasing sinus pain during a very dry, polluted climate and as that builds my migraines increase in frequency. Saw en ENT yesterday, he said he didn’t think so until he took a scan showing two sinus areas blocked. My personal theory is if you have a tendency towards migraine and anything is inflamed (sinus, neck) it will turn into a migraine
I suffer from the same and also all of my sinuses on the left side of my face are completely blocked. I have also had cluster migraines because of them .
The headaches are just horrible .
I’m waiting to have them all surgically drained but in the meantime , I’m on permanent antibiotics and every / mths , I need to take stronger ones to keep it at bay . I also get very tired and the whole sinus thing is very draining . So can understand what you’re having to put up with . Good luck with your ENT .
