This is my first post here. I'm hoping to find help and advice to control and overcome my condition (hemiplegic migraine) and in turn share my experience with others.

Hello :-)

Just joined myself and saw you had no reply so even though I have no doubt not as much knowledge as some will have on here what I do have is years of suffering with migraines :-(

I got my first migraine when I was only about 11

From then on when I got in my teens especially having my first child I started to get them about 4 times a year , I do get the Aura first followed my the cracking headache

That has never changed until I started going in the menopause and now I can have migraines at least once a month sometimes less , always with the Aura and always leaving me feeling so drained for several days later

My Doctors have always so far put it down to the menopause why these last 11 years I am getting so many , if this is true or not I am not sure

I have been under a lot of stress recently and this week I had the same migraine but it started with one of my fingers going numb followed by two more , then the Aura and then the headache , I am still getting symptoms and no matter how long you have been suffering it still frightens me every time ( I do suffer with severe anxiety though )

I have read and I started to do it but started again as I did found it helped the migraines been so frequent but taking a small dose of aspirin every day

Other than that because I have high blood pressure which I am already and have been for years taking Candersartan for my BP which obviously as it has for some helped with their migraines it has not for me :-(

No one knows unless you suffer just how debilitating , frightening and painful migraines are but hopefully as we do we can support each other :-)

I hope you are migraine free at the moment :-)

Take Care x

Hi there. It’s good to know that there are other people who understand what it’s like to live with migraine.

I’m feeling good today and trying to be positive. Hope you are too.

Take care xx

Hi,

After suffering from migraine since the age of 2, I suffered my first Hemiplegic episode earlier this year at the end of January. My symptoms have gone from a one week long horrendous migraine headache and sickness every month, to now having that plus an aggravating daily headache with numbness plus occasional pick axe pains, slurred words confusion.

I've learnt that symptoms are constantly changing and day to day you may experience differing difficulties. Also learnt that medical professionals aren't always understanding of changing symptoms or conditions when you have been a long-term suffer. Keep pushing x
