Propranolol for Vestibular Migraine

I have been taking Propranolol for about 6 weeks for vestibular migraine. There has been some improvement in symptoms but in the last couple of weeks my tinnitus has got much worse and to a lesser degree my eyes are more painful and vision worse.

Has anyone experience of taking Propranolol and having increased tinnitus and vision problems or is it not connected?

Thank you for any responses.

I’m pretty sure that either propranolol or amitriptyline prescribed for my cough headache caused my tinnitus. If you look up these drugs it does say they can exacerbate the condition. The amitriptyline certainly caused my eyes to dry up which does affect sight somewhat.

I tried it many years ago and felt like a zombie, a bit detached from life as though everything were almost a dream. Decided it was a better solution to deal with migraine on an ad hoc basis.

For me, propranolol reduced the anxiety that I experienced during a migraine attack and therefore also helped the dizziness somewhat. ( when I get dizzy I get anxious which triggers more dizziness) However it also triggered one of the worst headaches I’ve had in years - a rare but possible side effect- and made me so tired and weak I could barely walk to the mailbox and back. It also made me feel very depressed. I did not take this medicine for very long Just did not work for me.

Definitely increased my tinnitus, no affect on my vision though as far as I can tell
