Anyone had the multiple nerve block injections, if so did they help?

Hiya Babs. This has been discussed several times on HU. Type GON or greater occipital nerve block in the HU search on the top right of the screen to bring up historical posts. x

Hi babs1234,

I have been getting GON injections over the last two years. For me the severity of my migraines has been reduced, but the frequency has only been affected intermittently.

I was told the GON Block doesn't work for everyone. Personally, I think everyone should try any and all options available. But then, I would try a hammer to my head if I thought it would help.

Kind regards,

Catmag.

6 years, 2 years administered at NMC & 4 years Hallamshire hospital, Sheffield. Very rarely get a migraine now - but was in constant pain so could not gage when a migraine was coming cause my permanent state was cusp of a migraine [bright lights, noise, even windy weather was painful!]. Was hoping that eventually my occipital nerve would be damaged so much that eventually I wouldn't need the injection, but that is yet to happen - keep hoping. The mix of drugs makes a vast difference - lidocaine works, alternatives to lidocaine does not work at all..

Thanks for the info, how often do you have them and is it multiple you have. I have got my headaches down to about 9/10 days a month now. Would you bother
