Made a visit to the doctors as my migraines began to pick up pace and also shifted sides which they never do. Always been on the right side (for 7.5 years) - i asked if this was normal which ahe just about answered with "its migraine, yes" -though my concern was the way it's moved after 7 years! So I asked for a referral to a migraine specialist as iv suffered for 7.5 years EVERY month. But instead she sat and fired a list of 'preventative' drugs at me which I already tried.

So I declined all of her suggestions and insisted on seeing a specialist. She eventually backed down after being reluctant to do so. Not once did she ask about how they made me feel, where the pain was, NOTHING. I sat there and told her that I was becoming dependant on painkillers which she ignored. And she was also happy to write me a prescription on the painkillers I use even though I explained to her that I was becoming dependant .

I have an appointment in 4 months to see a specialist but in the meantime I'm stuck with this dull ache in left side which I cant explain. It initially was a migraine but It's not IN my head now, it feels all around the temple on left side. I'm beginning to think iv massaged it too much which is why it's hurting?

Iv also decided to try clear my body of drugs so I'm going without the triptan, codeine and ibuprofen (all of which I had taken ) - I was beginning to think I was gettin bounce back headaches ..

hahas anyone had the pain in temples from pressing too hard? I have been clasping my jaw together, putting the pressure around temple and really pressing it! I'd say it's pain level of a 6 at the moment.. My nose has been a big bunged up, I don't know if this is linked. I don't know anymore. ..

Sorry to hear how badly you're suffering. I do think it is quitr common for migraines to change sides and mine certainly went from being "reliably" left side 3 day duration to being all over my head at different times while still having photo and phono phobia and nausea and yawning.

After a particularly bad week or so I rang my doc and in discussion we concluded it could be sinusitis as my head felt so congested. One dose of Doxycycline and I felt human again. Of course they have returned but I don't think that anyone should ignore the fact that sometimes those minting heads he's aren't migraines but are caused by a bug or a virus. Anyway I had some much needed relief for a couple of days!

Maybe try pseudoephedrine if you can't face your doc again

Good luck, Patties
