I am thinking of trying this as have really tight neck and head pain comes from base of skull. Would like to hear if anyone has experienced his treatment and how many sessions they have had?
Anyone tried the Watson approach from... - National Migraine...
Anyone tried the Watson approach from a physio?
I had maybe 6 months biweekly sessions with Physio. It did help but not permanently so have it up and now just do some stretches, muscle exercises and use a hot water bottle to keep neck less tight. Also saw an osteopath for a while and found very helpful for maintaining a posture that then puts less pressure on the neck.
Hi Emma
I have had chiropractic and osteopathy and physio and none really helped. They almost gave up on me as bit of a lost cause! Is the physio you had from someone trained in Watson approach? not sure what difference it makes really but sounds like its I do with neck problems which sure mine are.
I have had weekly, sometimes bi weekly physio sessions for 18 months. ( Watson technique and others). It does help me feel looser and as it is very difficult to massage the areas with the right pressure and angle yourself I keep going to her.I do exercises too but nothing works as well as hands. It seems to be a moveable feast as sometimes the base of my skull is very tight and sometimes my shoulders and back but it in the end it all leads to your head.Even finding a place that does decent massage would maybe help to loosen you up.I do feel my headaches/migraines (I get both) are lessened. It really hurts when she pushes into the areas but it doesn't cause a migraine so I am happy to put up with pain to help reduce ongoing head pain.Good luck. You may as well try as you have nothing to lose.
Sounds like you have coat hanger migrains which is what I have just been diagnosed with
