Headache Migraine Ice Cool Cap

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend an ice cap for headaches that last more than 20 minutes?

I’ve tried a couple via Amazon purchases so far, but they the affect does not last very long.

I already use ice cool type patches so I’m open to other suggestions that others have found worked.

I use the "Halos Migraine Relief Cap" from Amazon. I put it in the freezer and usually take it out after about 2-3 hours. Yes it doesn't last very long, but it does give me some relief. I don't think any of the caps last very long unfortunately.

Thank you! I saw the below too which claims it can give up to 3 hours. amzn.eu/d/4hiQ0Ey

Hello there. The only thing that works for me is ice. I put water in a hot water bottle and freeze it. I use it when needed. I wrap a cloth or towel around. My migraines are usually on one side, so I lay down with the ice between my head and the pillow. All these things they sell are too heavy and make my migraines worse. And they last just about an hour. You can't use them if you have allodynia. Too painful! Good luck!

Thank you. I tried one that was particularly heavy and would never use it again. I have bought one similar to the Halo’s one mentioned above now. It’s more comfortable but doesn’t penetrate deep enough due to my thick hair.

Thank you for the tip of the water bottle.

I used water bottles as well but they would eventually start leaking. I found some of those plastic ice cubes that have water sealed in them and put them in a ziplock bag to make a flat ice pack. I have four packs that I rotate through in a day more or less. I just found some more cubes at Publix and bought all they had because there are times when I need more than four packs. I cover them so that they aren’t directly touching my skin but I think they have still caused some nerve damage. I think that’s why the pacts that you buy don’t last very long but I need them to last longer to numb the pain so I’ve chosen to numb the pain and hope I’m not doing too much damage.

Plastic ice cubes and a zip lock bag? This sounds interesting solution but I have no idea what they are.
