yes: ask to go on Ajovy or another proper preventive. You say you have seen 'specialists', do you mean a proper migraine specialist? Because they very rarely do all the tests you have mentioned for migraine because it rarely has a cause. It is now described on the Migraine Trust website as a brain disorder and so is an illness in its own right.

I've had migraines and cluster headaches for decades and the only scan I have ever had was a CT scan and that was in A&E for a cluster headache and they discovered I had previously had the AstraZeneca covid jab.

It took years for me to be referred to a clinic having previously seen only neurologists who were noit migraine experts but I did manage to get some decent medication along the way for when I have an attack, the best being the Sumatriptan injections called Imigran Subject which were a godsend when I was puking non stop.

As for preventives, unless you have tried all the cheap rubbish ones first they won't give you something like Ajovy (unless you're lucky) so over the years I have dutifully tried all the sh** ones with hideous side effects: Pizotifen, Topiramate (one makes you fat, the other makes you thin!) Amityrptiline and beta blockers and others. some worked for while, some did nothing and now at last I was finally allowed to have a prescription from another health board's migraine clinic and I have injections delivered every 3 motnhs and my friend who is a nurse does them for me.

They have actually changed my life, sometimes I think they have stopped working but overall there has been a massive improvement HOWEVER: I am 52 and it's too late. Migraines have ruined my life and stopped me working so I urge you to go back to your GP and put your foot down and demand to be seen by a specialist so that you can do all you can to manage your condition.

Please feel free to DM me if you want to chat.

Hi..thanx for youre reply....no the specialists im referring to is neurologists and homiopaths...im from south africa so options are more limited...the thing is its not just meegraines i get them about 2 -3times a week..but he rest of the time i have a massive massive headache thats doesnt go away at all.italso travels and is not situated in 1 area.. pain meds and injections have had no affect thats why they ran all the tests they said.Im almost 36 now and yes is ruining my life or it feels like that in anycase...ill ask my Gp if we can get avoy.

Have you tried magnesium? There are a number of types. It takes 3-6 months to work. Start 1x a day then increase, the dose and times a day. If in 3 months nothings has changed change the type you are using. I have had great success with magnesium glycinate. I take 400mg 3x daily and it has almost stopped them.

Many research projects have found that people with migraine are.low in magnesium.

Mint tea, almonds and ice on the back of my head only when I first feel the pain.

I know you say nothing helps, but often it is that the dose of migraine drug is not strong enough. Have you tried to increase the Triptan. You take instead of 5 MG take 10mg. Clearly you need a doctor to help you.

Good luck
