Hello All,
Thankyou so much to everyone who responded so quickly it my original query. It really helped particulary because I knew I had to decide which to go with today. Well the nurse phoned back and I decided to agree to sedation rather than G.A since that was proffessors condition. I really want this electrophysiologist as he did the first ablation (under G.A) is very experience in this work and the general feeling is that I’m very lucky to have him as my consultant and I do think that as well
The nurse today said the professor didn’t think G.A was necessary since it won”t take very much time. This is something else that I can’t can’t understand - my first ablation which was for A/f and flutter - took around an hour and a half but my research - that I did before - had led me to understand that the procedure can take four or five hours and can evolve a investigative procedure called mapping. Is my guy just ultra quick at this or is he doing something different? I have been told that he will only need to use the burning process this time not the freezing one.
Like another of your contributers, I am also thinking - do i really want to go through the recovery period again. I’m not on any meds at the moment apart from Apixiban and A/F doesn’t happen that often but then I now avoid exerting myself in any way that raises my heart beat. I have the feeling is that it might get worse now i’ts broken through again As of now I have that said will go with it, if others have found sedation tolerable then why shouldn’t I?
Any comments much appreciated,
Warm regards,
