Hair pulling
Hi. I sit and scratch my head and now have a bald patch,
It's almost like you have to scratch that little bit further or pull ur hair out as it's not perfect for you.
Then there is the fact of how it's caused
Hi no I haven't but did know someone that had it. She managed to stop in the end but it took time. Try and work out when it happens, what need its filling for you, then find an alternative. So for example if you always do it when you are bored and because you like to fiddle then keep fiddle toys near places you often sit. If you do it when you are upset because you like the pain then try self harm alternatives etc etc. ther are websites with advice, I'll try and find them for you.
Hi there. Yes I do scratch my head but didn't say I also pick it to the point where yes I've gone bold.ive a patch across the top to the back of my head going across about 6 inches and an 1 inch wide.
If I keep my self busy I'm ok but when I sit at home and watch a film I find my self doing it really really intense for hours when watching to.
Yes it feels good and comforting,
But it's turned in to a habit now and with having tics and minor Tourette's and with ADHD feeling it it's not easy to stop. I mean some one suggested an elastic band but I liked the pain to much so stopped as that would lead me down another impossible path to deal with.as far as I can remember I've picked my head since I was 12 on and of.
And I said once you start it's like you carry on because a it feels good and b you wanna make it look or feel good,
My barber is good he will skip the mirror to the back of my head or he will show me and say wow man it's for so much smaller and will cut my hair accordingly
I do! It makes me sad that there's not a group for it on here, as I've been struggling since high school
