Sorry I do not know the answer to that and nor will anyone else on the site unless they actually work for the DWP. Why not speak to someone from there and you might also get advice from your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

If you illnesses effect you dressing, washing, personal hygiene, cooking, if you are a danger to yourself or others you can put in a claim for DLA if they still do it, as PIP is susposed be coming out. I would suggest you contact your Welfare Right office if you have one or CAB if you don't and they can fill out the forms and give advice. DLA is not for shopping or housework.

DLA no longer exists (or should I say they are no longer accepting new claims and everyone who is on it will very soon have to reapply and make an application for PIP) . However you can try putting in a claim for PIP and/or ESA ( the latter if you are not working) but like Sue says best to see a benefits specialist or CAB about this. If you have a social worker they may be able to help too.

They are very strict over what they will pay out for but for example if you need a carer they can sometimes pay for this ; I have an idea they now pay it direct to the carer or you have to send receipts to them in any case. Yes you need specialist advice on this. If you have a physical disabiltiy and need special transport and so on they can possibly help you with this too.

You would need to contact welfare benefits in any case or CAB.
