Lichen Sclerosis on Penis?

I am a 22 year-old male. I had circumcision done 1.5 years ago due to phimosis. However, I did not have any symptoms of any infection or inflammation. I just wanted to get rid of my foreskin. Once I got circumcised, the skin on my glands started to peel off but it never stops. It keeps peeling, remains dry and sensitive. Is there any chance I have lichen sclerosis? Can you get one after circumcision? Originally, my circumcision was NOT due to Lichen Sclerosis. My dermatologist did a Fotofiner test on it but she said she could not find anything major and prescribed creams that do not really work. I do not have any burning or itching sensation, it just looks wrinkly, dry and sometimes I see little white spots that come and go.

We all are different, but flaking skin can be just dry. Mucous membrane won't never been normal skin. Have you ever try to apply some fragrance free moisturizer on to your penis glans? Do you use normal shower gel when you wash you penis?

Hi Andrew, it’s very unlikely to be LS which developed only post circumcision. It is much more likely to be dry skin and your glans adjusting to a new environment. LS can occur in circumcised men but generally only where the penis is buried or concealed in fat/skin such that a pseudo foreskin is created. The exact cause of LS is not really understood but it appears to be related to the exposure of the penis to urine trapped in the foreskin, and then only in susceptible - again unknown but autoimmune diseases may play part - individuals. I wish you all the best.

As you have a dermatologist, it might not be a bad idea to schedule a visit. That should put your mind at rest and get you some advice fir the future care of your penis.

Hi Andrew it is unlikely to be LS. your glans would have white discoloration which I think you don't have? it is possible that you had LS before the circumcision as it can cause phimosis the foreskin should always be sent for pathology testing. In your case there is something going on you should see your dermatologist again do you have any other skin conditions elsewhere on your body?

Thank you for your reply. I had phimosis from childhood. I could not pull my foreskin back. I am trying to say that my phimosis was not acquired, it was there from the very beginning.

That does happy quiet bit of the time many guys have phimosis from birth and don't realised they should be able to retract there foreskin as they get older. It is important to clean underneath your foreskin as infection or skin condition can start anytime. You have something going on with your glans so I'd advise you to see your dermatologist or even a second opinion might be no harm.

Is it keratinazation maybe?
