I got circumcized and there is a small gap between glans and stitches (which is not visible unless I pull the skin down) .When I pull the skin downwards there is a sticky yellow fluid in the gap. Why would there be a gap between glans and stitches? Did something go wrong with my circumcision ?

You would not want the shaft skin to be stitched to the rim of the glans. The doctor leaves a small amount of the inner foreskin to b e able to stitch to it. The stitches are therefore a short distsnce behind the glans and what you see is the sulcus (groove) that is just behind the glans itself.
The yellow fluid is almost certainly lymph - a natural fluid brought to the site of any wound carrying 'building materials' to repair it.
I doubt you have anything to worry about, but if you are concerned then you should contact your regular doctor or the surgeon.
Is it necessary to pull back skin and clean that area during recovery ?
Yes, you need to clean the incision site with (tap) water daily. Dry the wound area with clean cloth or hair dryer after that.
